MAGNUM OFFICE CHAIR USER INSTRUCTIONS
WHY ADJUST MY NEW CHAIR CORRECTLY?
In today’s work environment many hours are spent sitting, usually in front of a
computer. The physical impact of sitting so much is high and is greatly influ-
enced by our sitting posture.
Areas that are particularly susceptible to pain from sitting incorrectly are the
neck, shoulders, back and upper thighs. Through using the right equipment
that is correctly adjusted to suit the individual user, pain and discomfort can be
eliminated and comfort and productivity greatly increased.
HOW TO ADJUST YOUR CHAIR TO ENABLE CORRECT SITTING POSTURE
1. Height adjustable back
The back height is adjusted via a ratchet mechanism that is built into
the back. Use both hands on either side of the back and lift upwards
to increase the back height. There are 8 locking positions. To lower
you must lift it to the highest position which will cause it to release back
to the lowest starting position.
2 . Back tilt adjustment
Lift the back lever on the right hand side. Lean back to adjust the
backrest to the desired position and then release.
3 . Seat tilt adjustment
Lift the back lever on the right hand side. Tuck your right leg under the
seat and stretch the other leg out in front. Lift lever, lean forward or
backwards to adjust the seat. When the seat is in the desired potion
release the lever.
4 . Seat height adjustment lever
Establish the right seating height with both the hips and knees comfort-
able at right angles. To increase the seat height lift your weight from
the seat lift the front lever under the right side of the seat up. To make
the chair decrease in height use your body weight by sitting in the
chair at the same time as lifting the lever up. Always release the lever
to lock the chair into a comfortable height.

This chair has been fitted with a Ergosoft seat
for greater ergonomic comfort and function
ERGOSOFT SEAT DESIGN.
The Ergosoft rationale is based on the extensive
research and development spent on bedding
technology. Research shows that all superior
bedding patents have firmer foam to support
peripheral areas of the body. The same ap-
plies to providing support when sitting.
Firmer foam cushions the user where the
weight distribution is heaviest – at the rear of
the cushion. Over the life of the chair, this high
density foam prevents seat pan contact. The
seat design encourages the user to sit with the
legs / feet slightly apart which creates a
greater base of support, encouraging better
posture and circulation. Ergosoft utilizes softer
foam and contours to discourage the user
from sliding forward and to improve blood
flow, thus ensuring optimum comfort. Waterfall
edge greatly minimises circulation obtrusion to
the back of the thighs. The underlying seat
timber is also ergonomically shaped.
SITTING PROPERLY
THE THINGS TO LOOKS OUT FOR:
Your body should always feel that it is in an
upright but comfortable and relaxed posi-
tion.
Your bottom should always be at the back
of the seat
Your neck should feel upright and your
shoulders squared and relaxed
Your arms should hang straight down by
your side with elbows bending at right an-
gles to rest on your work surface
Your feet should be flat on the floor (or on
a foot rest) and your knees at right angle
Your back should have permanent con-
tact with the chair back and the lower
‘lumber’ muscles should feel supported
Your pelvis should feel like it is tilted slightly
forward with a comfortable one hands
width from the front of the seat to the
back of your knees
