Turn your phone on or off
To turn your phone on,
Press and hold [1.
].
Enter your PIN and press <2. Confirm> (if necessary).
If the battery remains fully discharged or
removed from the device, the time and date will
be reset.
To turn your phone off, repeat step 1 above.
Use the optical track pad
To select the highlighted menu option or confirm an
input, press the track pad.
To scroll through menu options, drag your finger up,
down, left or right on the track pad.
Access menus
To access your phone’s menus,
In Idle mode, press <1. Menu> to access Menu mode.
You may need to press the track pad to access
Menu mode depending on your region or
service provider.
Use the track pad to scroll to a menu or option.2.
Press 3. Select or the track pad to confirm the
highlighted option.
Press <4. Back> to move up one level; Press [
] to
return to Idle mode.
When you access a menu requiring the PIN2, •
you must enter the PIN2 supplied by the
SIM card. For details, contact your service
provider.

Make a call
In Idle mode, enter an area code and a phone 1.
number.
Press [2.
] to dial the number.
To end the call, press [3.
].
Answer a call
When a call comes in, press [1. ].
To end the call, press [2.
].
Call a recently dialled number
In Idle mode, press [1. ] to display a list of recent
numbers.
Scroll left or right to select a call type.2.
Scroll up or down to select a number or name.3.
Press the track pad to view details of the call or 4.

] to dial the number.
Adjust the volume
To adjust the volume of the ringtone
In Menu mode, select 1. Settings Sound profiles.
Scroll to the profile you are using.2.
Press <3. Edit> Volume.
Scroll to 4. Call alert.
Scroll left or right to adjust the volume level and 5.
press <Save>.
To adjust the volume of voice during a call
While a call is in progress, press the Volume key up or
down to adjust the volume.
In noisy environments, you may have difficulty
hearing the calls while using the speakerphone
feature. For better audio performance, use the
normal phone mode.
Change your ringtone
In Menu mode, select 1. Settings Sound profiles.
Scroll to the profile you are using.2.
Press <3. Edit> Voice call ringtone.
Select a memory location (if necessary).4.
Select a ringtone.5.
To switch to another profile, select it from the list.
Use the smart home screen
The smart home screen allows you to access your
favourite applications and contacts and view upcoming
events or tasks. You can customise the smart home
screen to fit your preferences and needs.
When you are using the smart home screen, the
track pad does not work as shortcuts.
To add items to the smart home screen
In Menu mode, select 1. Settings Display Smart
home and scroll left or right to a smart home screen.
Press <2. Edit>. Select the items to display on the
smart home screen.
For the shortcuts toolbar, you can add or delete
the shortcuts as desired. Press <Options> Edit
shortcuts.
Press <3. Options> Save.
Press the track pad.4.
You can change the idle screen to another style.
In Menu mode, select Settings Display
Smart home and scroll left or right to a style
you want.
To access the smart home items
Drag on the track pad to scroll through the items on the
smart home screen and press the track pad to select
an item.
Enter text
To change the text input mode
Press [• ] to change case or switch to Number mode.
Press and hold [•
] to switch between T9 and ABC
modes. Depending on your country, you may be able
to access an input mode for your specific language.
Press [•
] to switch to Symbol mode.
Press and hold [•
] to select an input mode or change
the input language.
T9 mode
Press the appropriate alphanumeric keys to enter an 1.

When the word displays correctly, press [2. 0] to insert
a space. If the correct word does not display, press
the track pad up or down to select an alternate word.
ABC mode
Press an appropriate alphanumeric key until the
character you want appears on the display.
Number mode
Press an appropriate alphanumeric key to enter a

Symbol mode
Press an appropriate alphanumeric key to enter a
symbol.
To move the cursor, drag on the track pad.•
To delete characters one by one, press •
<Clear>. To delete all of the characters,
press and hold <Clear>.
To insert a space between characters, press •
[0].
To enter punctuation marks, press [• 1].
Add a new contact
The memory location to save new contacts may
be preset depending on your service provider.
To change the memory location, in Menu mode,
select Contacts <Options> Settings
Save new contacts to a memory location.
In Idle mode, enter a phone number and press 1.
<Options>.
Select 2. Add to Contacts Create contact
a memory location (if necessary).
Select a number type (if necessary).3.
Enter contact information.4.
Press the track pad.5.
Send and view messages
To send a text message or multimedia message
In Menu mode, select 1. Messages Create
message.
Enter a recipient number and scroll down.2.
Enter the message text. 3.
See “Enter text.”
For sending as a text message, skip to step 5.
For attaching multimedia, continue with step 4.
Press <4. Options> Add multimedia and add
an item.
Press the track pad to send the message.5.
To view a text or multimedia messages
In Menu mode, select 1. Messages Inbox.
Select a text or multimedia message.2.
Make fake calls
You can simulate an incoming call when you want to get
out of meetings or unwanted conversations.
To activate the fake call feature
In Menu mode, select Settings Call Fake call
Fake call hot key On.
To make a fake call
In Idle mode, press and hold the Volume down key.
Activate and send an SOS message
In an emergency, you can send SOS messages to your
family or friends for help.
To activate the SOS message
In Menu mode, select 1. Messages Settings
SOS messages Sending options.
Press <2. Change> to select On.
Scroll down and press the track pad to open the 3.
recipient list.
Press 4. Search to open your contact list.
Select a contact.5.
Select a number (if necessary).6.
Press the track pad to save the recipients.7.
Scroll down and set the number of times to repeat 8.

To send an SOS message
With the keys locked, press either end of the volume 1.

The phone switches to SOS mode and sends the

Use the camera

To view photos
In Menu mode, select My files Images a photo file.
To capture videos
In Idle mode, press the Camera key to turn on the 1.

Press [3. 1] to switch to camcorder. Aim the lens at the
subject and make any adjustments.
Press the track pad to start recording.4.
Press the track pad or <5. Stop> to stop recording.
The video is saved automatically.
To view videos
In Menu mode, select My files Videos a video file.
Set and use alarms
To set a new alarm
In Menu mode, select 1. Alarms.
Press <2. Create>, or press <Options> Create
alarm.
Set alarm details.3.
Press <4. Save> or the track pad.
To stop an alarm
When the alarm sounds,
Press <Confirm> or the track pad to stop the alarm,
or press <Snooze> to silence the alarm for the snooze
period.
To deactivate an alarm
In Menu mode, select 1. Alarms.
Select the alarm you want to deactivate.2.
Press <3. Options> Deactivate alarm.
If the battery has been removed, the scheduled
alarm may not sound.

Do not remove the battery from the phone •
before unplugging the travel adapter first.
Otherwise, the phone may be damaged.
To save energy, unplug the travel adapter •
when not in use. The travel adapter does not
have a power switch, so you must unplug the
travel adapter from the electrical socket when
not in use to avoid wasting power. The device
should remain close to the electrical socket
while charging.
Insert a memory card (optional)
Your phone accepts microSD™ or microSDHC™
memory cards up to 16 GB (depending on memory card
manufacturer and type).
Formatting the memory card on a PC may •
cause incompatibility with your phone. Format
the memory card only on the phone.
Frequent writing and erasing of data will •
shorten the life span of memory cards.
