Recently my Defy occasionally runs without stopping unless it is turned off at the power supply it has done this twice is there a reason for this? It has never done it before and it is about 3 years old.

We had a power cut during the washing cycle. The machine is turned off and the plug removed from the power socket yet the machine still sounds like it's running when closing the door. How do I reset or cancel the cycle? I have drained the water by holding the two buttons on the front but it has not fixed the problem. Thank you
