Griddle or Grill/Griddle (on some
models)
For MFGS8030R* and MFGS7030S*
To use the Reversible Grill/Griddle Accessory:
Cooktop Griddle Usage
Grill/griddle installed over left side grate
1. Locate the griddle on the left side grate as shown. Determine
which side to use depending on the food being cooked.
2. Before each use, brush on a thin layer of cooking oil to keep
food from sticking. Cooking sprays may leave a sticky residue
on this reversible griddle that is hard to remove.
3. For cooking on the left side of the cooktop - preheat the
reversible griddle for 5 minutes with each Left Rear and Left
Front burner on High or Medium High setting. After preheating
is complete, adjust the burners heat setting as necessary
depending on the food being cooked.
4. For cooking on the center of the cooktop - preheat the
reversible griddle for 5-10 minutes on high. After preheating is
complete, adjust the burner heat setting as necessary
depending on the food being cooked.
NOTE: Do not use the reversible griddle on the cooktop during or
immediately after running the oven cleaning cycle.
Inside of the Oven Grill Usage
1. Placement of the Reversible Grill Inside of Oven:
It is recommended to place this reversible Grill in the cavity
second rack from the top. It was also designed to nest on
top of the rack, securing it in place so it does not move
around.
2. Preheat cavity with the Reversible Grill inside
Allow the accessory to preheat the full time, which is
20 minutes. Open the door and, with oven mitts, carefully
pull the rack slightly out to place your food on it. Once the
food is placed, push the rack back in and close the door.
Allow the food to cook, flipping as needed.
Keep the kitchen well-ventilated when using the Grill Mode
cycle to help get rid of heat, odors, and smoke.
3. Recommended food types for recommended temperatures
LOW Temp (450°F): Bone- in meats such as: chicken
wings, legs, pork chops
MED Temp (500°F): Shrimp, pineapple, steak kabob, corn
HIGH TEMP (550°F): Burgers, boneless chicken breast,
veggies
4. Let it cool down before starting to clean it as the surface will be
hot.
Cleaning and Seasoning your Reversible
Grill/Griddle:
The reversible grill/griddle is cast iron and should be cleaned and
maintained accordingly. Seasoning is just oil baked onto cast iron
and carbon steel. It gives your cookware that classic black patina.
Seasoning forms a natural, easy-release cooking surface and
helps prevent your pan from rusting.
Steps To Cleaning & Seasoning The Reversible
Grill/Griddle:
The grill/griddle is pre-seasoned and ready to use. To prolong
your seasoned grill/griddle, avoid using degreasing agents like
dish soap or steel wool.
Wash your cast iron cookware by hand. For stuck-on food, use
a mild scrubbing sponge or brush to remove & rinse with water.
Dry remaining water with a lint-free cloth or paper towel to help
reduce the chance of rusting.
If your seasoning coating on the grill/griddle wears off,
re-season the grill/griddle as needed.
Rub a very light layer of cooking oil (i.e.vegetable oil, melted
shortening, or canola oil) or Seasoning Spray onto the
surface of your cookware.
Use a paper towel to wipe the surface until no oil residue
remains.
Oven Light
The oven light is a 40 W halogen bulb. Before replacing, make
sure the oven and cooktop are cool and the control knobs are in
the Off position.
To Replace:
1. Disconnect power.
2. Turn the glass bulb cover in the back of the oven
counterclockwise to remove.
3. Remove bulb from socket.
4. Replace bulb, using tissue or wearing cotton gloves to handle
bulb. To avoid damage to or decreasing the life of the new
bulb, do not touch bulb with bare fingers.
5. Replace bulb cover by turning clockwise.
6. Reconnect power.
IMPORTANT: Do not use lamps rated higher than 40 W.
