According to the description, the "measure in the ear" function should work by pressing the on/off button and the measurement button at the same time. However, that is not possible. The ear area cannot even be selected.

I looked up this manual for the same reason, Er3 in the manual states that it's outside of its operational temperature. The device itself has to be between 15C and 40C to not show this error, probably to provide accurate and consistent readings. I used to store it in a closet that gets a bit colder, in the future I'll store it in the drawer under the living room table to avoid this issue.
