Comprobar que los sellos o los materiales de sellado no se hayan degradado de tal manera que ya no

sirvan para prevenir la entrada de atmósferas inflamables. Las piezas de recambio deberán ser de

conformidad con las instrucciones del fabricante.

NOTA: El uso de sellante de silicona puede inhibir la efectividad de algunos tipos de equipos de

detección de fugas. No será necesario aislar los componentes intrínsecamente seguros antes de

trabajar en ellos.

3 REPARACIÓN DE COMPONENTES INTRÍNSECAMENTE SEGUROS

No aplicar cargas inductivas ni de capacitancia permanentes al circuito sin haberse asegurado antes de

que esto no exceda el voltaje ni la corriente permitidos para el equipo en uso.

Los componentes que sean intrínsecamente seguros son los únicos tipos en los que se puede trabajar

mientras se esté en un entorno de atmósfera inflamable. El aparato de prueba deberá estar en la

clasificación correcta. Reemplazar los componentes solo con piezas especificadas por el fabricante.

Otras partes pueden provocar el encendido del refrigerante en la atmósfera por una fuga.

4 CABLEADO

Verificar que el cableado no se someta a desgaste, corrosión, presión excesiva, vibración, bordes

afilados u otros efectos negativos para el medio ambiente. La verificación también tendrá en cuenta los

efectos del envejecimiento o la vibración continua de fuentes como compresores o ventiladores.

5 DETECCIÓN DE REFRIGERANTES INFLAMABLES

Bajo ninguna circunstancia se utilizarán fuentes potenciales de ignición en la búsqueda o detección de

fugas de refrigerante. No se debe usar una antorcha de haluro (ni ningún otro detector con llama viva).

6 MÉTODOS DE DETECCIÓN DE FUGAS

Los siguientes métodos de detección de fugas se consideran aceptables para sistemas que contengan

refrigerantes inflamables.

Se deben usar detectores electrónicos de fugas para detectar refrigerantes inflamables. Sin embargo, la

sensibilidad puede no ser adecuada o puede necesitar una recalibración. (El equipo de detección debe

calibrarse en un área sin refrigerante). Hay que asegurarse de que el detector no sea una fuente

potencial de encendido y que sea adecuado para el refrigerante utilizado. El equipo de detección de

fugas se establecerá en un porcentaje del LFL del refrigerante y se calibrará respecto al refrigerante

empleado. Además, se confirmará el porcentaje apropiado de gas (25% como máximo).

Los fluidos de detección de fugas son adecuados para usar con la mayoría de los refrigerantes, pero se

debe evitar el uso de detergentes que contengan cloro, ya que el cloro puede reaccionar con el

refrigerante y corroer las tuberías de cobre.

Si se sospecha que hay una fuga, se eliminarán/ extinguirán todas las llamas vivas.

Si se encuentra una fuga de refrigerante que requiera soldadura fuerte, todo el refrigerante deberá

recuperarse del sistema o aislarse (por medio de llaves de paso) en una parte del remate del sistema de

la fuga. El nitrógeno libre de oxígeno (OFN, siglas en inglés de Oxygen Free Nitrogen) se purgará a

través del sistema, antes y durante el proceso de soldadura.

7 EXTRACCIÓN Y EVACUACIÓN

Al entrar en el circuito de refrigerante para hacer reparaciones - o para cualquier otro propósito, se

utilizarán procedimientos convencionales. Sin embargo, es importante que se sigan las mejores
