1-2. SAFETY FEATURES

Numbers preceding the descriptions correspond with the numbers on preceding page to help you locate the safety feature.

2 LOW KICKBACK SAW CHAIN helps significantly reduce kickback, or the intensity of kickback, due to specially designed

depth gauges and guard links.

4SPARK ARRESTER SCREEN retains carbon and other flammable particles over 0.023 inches (0.6mm) in size from engine

exhaust flow. Compliance with local, state and federal laws and/or regulations governing the use of a spark arrester screen

is the user’s responsibility. See Safety Precautions for additional information.

5 CHAIN BRAKE

LEVER / HAND GUARD protects the operator’s left hand in the event it slips off the front handle while

saw is running.

5 CHAIN BRAKE

is a safety feature designed to reduce the possibility of injury due to kickback by stopping a moving saw

chain in milliseconds. It is activated by the CHAIN BRAKE

lever.

10 STOP SWITCH immediately stops the engine when tripped. Stop switch must be pushed to ON position to start or restart

engine.

11 SAFETY TRIGGER prevents accidental acceleration of the engine. Throttle trigger (19) cannot be squeezed unless the

safety latch is depressed.

20 CHAIN CATCHER reduces the danger of injury in the event saw chain breaks or derails during operation. The chain catch-

er is designed to intercept a whipping chain.

21 MUFFLER SHIELD helps prevent hands and combustible materials from making contact with a hot muffler.

5 LE LEVIER DU CHAIN BRAKE

(FREIN DE CHAINE) /ARCEAU PROTECTEUR protège la main gauche de l’utilisateur

si elle glisse de la poignée avant, pendant que la tronçonneuse est en opération.

est un dispositif de sécurité conçu pour minimiser la possibilité de blessures causées par un rebond; le

levier du CHAIN BRAKE

arrête la tronçonneuse instantanément.

10 Déclanché, L’INTERRUPTEUR D ARRET stoppe immédiatement le moteur. Pour faire redémarrer le moteur, il est néces-

saire de mettre l’interrupteur sur la position «mise en marche» ON.

11 LA MANETTE DE SECURITE empêche l’accélération involontaire du moteur. Il n’est pas possible d’appuyer sur la

gâchette d’accélération (19) à moins que la gâchette de sécurité ne soit enclenchée.

20 LE CAPTEUR DE CHAINE réduit le danger de blessures en cas de rupture ou de sortie de la chaîne. Le capteur de chaîne

est conçu de manière à intercepter la chaîne.

21 LE PROTECTEUR DU SILENCIEUX empêche tout contact, des mains et matériaux combustibles avec le silencieux chaud.

5 LA MANIJADEL CHAIN BRAKE

/ RESGUARDO DE LA MANO protegen la mano izquierda del operador en caso de que

se resbale el mango frontal mientras la sierra está encendida.

es un aspecto de seguridad diseñado para reducir la posibilidad de una lesión debido a un contragolpe

causado por el detenimiento de una cadena de sierra en movimiento en milisegundos. Es activado por la manija del CHAIN

BRAKE

10 EL INTERRUPTOR DE APAGADO apaga inmediatamente el motor cuando éste tropieza. El interruptor de apagado debe

de ser puesto en la posición de encendido para arrancar o rearrancar el motor.

11 EL GATILLO DE SEGURIDAD previene la aceleración accidental del motor. El gatillo de aceleración (19) no puede ser

apretado a menos que el gatillo de seguridad esté presionado.

20 EL ENGANCHE DE LA CADENA reduce el peligro de una lesión en caso de que la cadena de la sierra se rompa o descar-

rile durante la operación. El enganche de la cadena está diseñado para interceptar el azote de una cadena.

21 EL ESCUDO DEL MOFLE ayuda a prevenir que las manos y materiales combustibles tengan contacto con el mofle

caliente.
