Wasserdichtigkeit
Die Wasserdichtigkeit Ihrer DETOMASO–Uhr ist mit 10 ATM getestet.
Das heißt, Ihre Uhr besteht unbeschadet Händewaschen, Baden, Regensprit-
zer, Schwimmen und Duschen. Sie ist nicht geeignet zum Tauchen.
Wasserdichtigkeit ist keine bleibende Eigenschaft; sie sollte jährlich und insbe-
sondere vor besonderen Belastungen überprüft werden, da die eingebauten
Dichtungselemente in ihrer Funktion und im täglichen Gebrauch nachlassen.
Um die Wasserdichtigkeit einer Uhr zu gewährleisten werden Dichtungen
verwendet. Diese unterliegen einem natürlichen Alterungsprozess. Sie werden
u. a. von Schweiß und Säuren angegriffen.
DIN 8310 regelt Kriterien, die neue Uhren aushalten müssen. Die Wider-
standsfähigkeit wird in Atmosphäre angegeben und auf dem Gehäuseboden
vermerkt. Ihre DETOMASO–Uhr hat eine Wasserdichtigkeit von 10 ATM. Die
Druckangabe „10 ATM“ darf nicht verwechselt werden mit der Tauchtiefe,
sondern ist die Denition des Prüfdrucks. Ein Prüfdruck von „10 ATM“ wird in
100 m Wassertiefe erreicht.
Beim Schwimmen oder beim Sprung ins Wasser kann kurzfristig ein größerer
Druck auf die Dichtelemente entstehen als der garantierte Prüfdruck. Beson-
ders gefährdet sind die Uhren, wenn man nach längerem Sonnenbaden ins
Wasser springt, weil sich dann der Aufschlagdruck mit dem Unterdruck durch
die Abkühlung addiert, was leichter zu Schäden führen kann.
Beim Batteriewechsel ist es wichtig die Dichtungen zu überprüfen und ggf. zu
erneuern.
