Instructions
Before starting work please take a few
minutes to carefully and thoroughly read
all instructions. For safe operation, pay
close attention to safety guidelines and
warnings included for your protection.
Save these instruction for future use.
WARNING
Never use the heat gun near flam-
mable materials or gases.
Never obstruct the hot airflow by
blocking or covering the air outlet.
Never touch the hot air nozzle. It
becomes extremely hot.
Do not force the tool or accessories
and use only for the purpose intend-
ed.
Keep the gun and handle dry, clean,
and free from oil, grease and water.
Always stand gun in an upright po-
sition or hang it up by its convenient
hanger.
Always allow the heat gun to cool
down completely before storing it.
Guard against electric shock by pre-
venting contact with grounded sur-
faces (for example: pipes, radiators,
ranges, refrigerator enclosures).
Never carry the gun by its power
cord or yank the cord from an elec-
trical outlet. Inspect tool cord peri-
odically for damage.
Disconnect the tool when not in use.
POWER INFORMATION
Be sure the power supply agrees with
the nameplate on the HEAT GUN (see
table to right). Voltage decreases greater
than 10% can cause loss of power and
possible overheating. The tool is double
insulated for added safety. Double insu-
lation does not take the place of normal
safety precautions.
Extension Cords
When selecting extension cords, use
only UL-approved extension cords in all
cases. Those stamped "W-A" are suita-
ble for outdoor use. See wire size chart
below:
Operation
The 69092 HEAT GUN is very light and
easy to use. The heat control allows for
low and high working temperature set-
tings as well as an off setting.
Before plugging into the electrical out-
let, always make certain the power
switch is in the OFF position.
When ready to begin work, set power
switch to desired temperature setting.
With the HEAT GUN, always allow a
minute or so for it to reach its full oper-
ating temperature. Always wear protec-
tive gloves and eye protection.
The HEAT GUN is designed with a built
-in stand so it can be positioned in an
upright (vertical) position only, on any
flat, level surface. This frees both hands.
Remember to keep hands away from the
immediate nozzle area.

Applications
VACUUM AC&R SYSTEMS
Heat guns or heat lamps used on the
outside of AC&R Systems bring the
moisture inside into a vapor state so it
can be removed from the system. Heat
applied to the system oil reservoir will
allow trapped gasses to boil off. Heat
applied to areas where moisture collects
will turn it to vapor much faster. Heating
will generally increase the speed of a
vacuum and also allow you to pull a
deeper more complete vacuum.
PIPE THAWING
The heat gun can be very useful for
thawing or heating frozen water pipes in
a residential or commercial application.
The following safety precautions, how-
ever, must be observed.
A heat gun is capable of reaching
high temperatures and therefore
should not be used in close
proximity of combustible, low
melting or deforming temperature
materials.
Do not use a heat gun on plastic or
other non-metallic pipe or tubing
material. The heat gun can melt and
deform plastics while giving off
toxic fumes, detrimental to your
health.
Keep the heat gun in motion while
heating pipes. Concentrating heat in
one area can affect the joint seals,
and heating too close to a soldered
joint could loosen the union.
Not recommended for thawing PVC
piping.

Can I store power tools in a shed or garage? Verified

In general, you can store power tools in a shed or garage, even if it sometimes freezes there. However, it is better for the lifespan of the power tool to store it in a dry place without major temperature fluctuations. In a shed or garage, differences in temperature can cause condensation to form, which can cause rust. In addition, tools that run on batteries last shorter and do not charge as well at very low temperatures. To be sure how your power tool needs to be stored, always thoroughly read the user manual.
