I have a SilverCrest rice maker SRK 400 A2 from Lidl and it continues to make a mess on the lid through the breather part all over the lid. I am pretty sure it was okay at first. It is used with the manual conditions of the amounts etc. Recently in Lidl I noticed the steam outlet part had a nylon disc attached to its underside and was wondering if this is a modification or something that has to be removed. Every other make of rice maker seems to just have a lid that closes with a steamer hole.

I have only used mine 3 times and first time I followed instructions and all was fine, the next day I forgot to brush some oil around the bowl and also forgot to rinse the rice, it overflowed everywhere all out the steam vent and my worktop so today I brushed oil around the bowl and rinsed my rice in hot water before starting and it has cooked perfectly again with no mess so I am not sure what made it overflow either not oiling the bowl or not rinsing the starch out the rice

I have now tried the rice cooker twice, both of which paint a huge juice out of the steam hole. Everything overflows, gushes out of the opening, cleaning then takes longer than the rice itself.

Can i cook a portion for one person? All the notes says to only fill water between the 2 and 5 mark, but that would be way too much if only cooking 1 portion of rice?

The seal of the cooker has come away. Is it possible to replace it. We have tried putting back in place the old seal but that seems to be very difficult to keep in place.

I did the same to clean it as it gets a lot of residue. Now I cannot get it to go back and nothing can be done. Strikes me it's a design fault if something that gets food residue easily cannot be cleaned. Wish I'd never bought it

Hi there, have a Silvercrest SRK 400 C1 (not A1). On the base of the inner pot there seems to be a label : ILAG NON STICK Swiss Techonology CORFLON ULTRA. Should I remove this before use? I can't find any reference to removing it in the instruction manual, and it does seem to be pretty well stuck on... Help, please!
