1. Open the battery

compartment

Switching the

instrument on/off

Changing the batteries

Off:

Press open the battery

compartment to the

first stop to switch off.

On:

Close the battery

compartment fully

to switch on.

Selecting the

hearing program

The IMPACT R can be programmed

with up to 5 hearing programs which

are selected with a program button.

Each time the button is pressed the

instrument changes to the next

program, which is confirmed with

beep tones. The number of beep tones

is the same as the selected program.

Domes and

receiver moulds

Your hearing instrument may be

programmed to inform you when the

battery should be replaced for best

system performance. You may hear an

intermittent series of beeps and/or

experience low amplification power or

volume. Change the battery when

either of these occur.

Power-on delay

Your hearing instrument may be

equipped with a “power-on delay”

feature.

This feature delays sound from entering

your hearing instrument when it is first

turned on, so that you may insert the

hearing instrument into your ear

without experiencing unpleasant

feedback (whistling).

On/Off using the program button

Your IMPACT R can also be programmed

by your NHS Audiologist to be turned

on and off using the program button.

Remove cerumen with a soft tissue.

No other tools are required

To remove dried cerumen, moisten the

soft tissue with a cerumen solvent

Dab the cerumen with the moistened

tissue and wait a short period of time,

this will loosen the cerumen

Removing your hearing instrument

Turn your hearing instrument off

Hold the Receiver Unit/Receiver

Mould between your thumb and

index finger and carefully pull it out.

You may find it helpful to lightly

push your ear from the back

2. Remove coloured

sticker from new

battery, place battery

in drawer with + symbol on battery

+ side up. (You should only remove

the protective sticker if you actually

use the battery)

Low Battery indicator

NOTICE

Do not use lubricant when you

insert the Dome/Receiver Mould,

because it may clog the sound

outlet

For hearing instruments with a

Receiver Mould, handle by holding

the Receiver Mould. Do not pull

the tube

Inserting and removing

your hearing instrument

Inserting your hearing instrument

Turn your hearing instrument off

Hold the receiver with the Dome/

Receiver Mould between your

thumb and index finger and insert it

carefully into the ear canal. You may

find it helpful to pull your ear

slightly upward or to the back

Place your hearing instrument

behind your ear

Turn your hearing instrument on

CAUTION

Attach the Dome properly. If

the Dome remains in the ear,

have it removed by your NHS

Audiologist.

Optional

Cleaning

Cerumen (ear wax) on the Domes,

Grid-Domes and Receiver Moulds

can affect sound quality.

Clean Domes, Grid-Domes and

Receiver Moulds right after taking

the hearing instrument off. This way

cerumen can not dry and harden.

Grid-Domes are very flexible.

Take the Grid-Dome off the

Receiver Unit and squeeze the

Grid-Dome to remove cerumen

from the grid.

NOTICE

Domes, Grid-Domes and Receiver

Moulds are easily damaged when

handled wrongly.

Never use brushes or sharp objects

for cleaning

Never use running water or

immerse the hearing instrument

Never use pressure or rotating

action while cleaning

Do not spray cerumen solvent

directly onto the C-Grid

Do not pull the receiver out of the

Receiver Mould

Hello I have the Siemens impact R hearing aids as an emergency spare. They are now needed but I don’t know what batteries they take??? Can you help
