Der ab 1975 in den Panzeraufklärungsverbänden der Bundes-

wehr eingesetzte Spähpanzer 2 „Luchs“ ist gut gepanzert,

verfügt über eine integrierte ABC-Schutzanlage und zeichnet

sich durch äußerst leise Fahrgeräusche aus. Die acht großvolu-

migen Niederdruckreifen weisen Notlaufeigenschaften auf. Bis

zu einer Geschwindigkeit von 30 km/h können alle vier Ach-

sen gelenkt werden. Der „Luchs“ wird von einem DB 10-Zylin-

der Vielstoffmotor mit 389 PS angetrieben und erreicht eine

Höchstgeschwindigkeit von bis zu 90 km/h auf der Straße. Als

Bewaffnung dient eine RH 202 20mm Bordmaschinenkanone.

Die Besatzung besteht aus Kommandant, Richtschütze, sowie

Vorwärts- und Rückwärtsfahrer/Tastfunker.

The Spähpanzer 2 Luchs that has been used by the Federal Ger-

man Army reconnaissance units since 1975 is well armoured, has

a built-in NBC system and is characterized by extremely quiet

running. The eight high-volume low-pressure tyres have emer-

gency running properties. Up to a speed of 30 km/h all eight

wheels can be steered. The Luchs is driven by a 389 hp DB 10

cylinder multi-fuel engine and develops a maximum road speed

of 90 km/h. The armament consists of an RH 202 20 mm ma-

chine cannon. It is crewed by a commander, gunner, and front

and rear driver/radio operator.
