To open the back of the phone you insert your fingernail in the very small openings at the corners of the phone and pry. No tools needed, except maybe one of those small flat screwdrivers you use to tighten eyeglass frames. Easy goes it. Slight pop one corner then move to the next running finger nail down side of phone. Repeat on other side.
