How to Use Electric Kettle
w WARNING
Burn Hazard. Do not overfill kettle. Boiling water may
spit out of the spout.
Before first use: Fill Kettle to maximum capacity, bring to a boil, and
then manually shut off Kettle. Discard water and repeat. Rinse well.
NOTES:
Use water only in Kettle. If used for foods or beverages such as
tea or coffee, warranty will be voided.
For increased efficiency and longer life, Kettle must be kept clean
of mineral deposits. We recommend that you empty Kettle after
each use to prevent mineral deposits.
1. Unplug Kettle before filling.
2. Fill Kettle with desired amount of water. Make sure to cover
element. The water level must be between minimum and
maximum indicator lines on water level indicator.
NOTE: This Kettle has a built-in safety feature for protection should
the unit be plugged in without an adequate amount of water or if
Kettle boils dry.
3. Make sure that Lid is in place and Kettle or power base
(cordless models only) is standing on a level surface. If lid is not
in place, auto shut-off will not operate. All Kettle cords must be
kept away from hot surfaces.
4. For cordless models, ensure Kettle is correctly engaged on base.
5. Plug into outlet.

and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its
service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to
avoid a hazard. Contact Customer Service for information on
examination, repair, or adjustment as set forth in the Limited
Warranty.
8.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended or sold
by the appliance manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to
persons.
9.
Do not use outdoors.
10.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch
hot surfaces, including the stove.
11.
Do not place electric kettle on or near a hot gas or electric
burner or in a heated oven.
12.
To disconnect electric kettle, turn any control to OFF ( ) and
then remove plug from wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug
and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.

6. Turn Power Switch to ON (I). A light comes on when Kettle is on.
7. Kettle will switch off automatically when water has boiled or
you can manually shut Kettle OFF ( ) when desired.
IMPORTANT: Ensure that the cordless Kettle has switched off
automatically or is switched off manually before removing it from
the base.
8. Unplug Kettle before pouring.
w WARNING
Burn Hazard. Use extreme caution when carrying
the kettle containing hot water. Do not pour in the direction of
people or over people.
9. If you want to refill Kettle immediately, first check the water
level indicator and then, if required, run cold water in through
the spout.
10. After use, unplug Kettle and empty.
11. Do not hold switch on while Kettle is boiling.
If Kettle Floor Discolors: It is normal for stainless-steel heating
elements to discolor. This does not affect the performance of the
Kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners since this
may damage the stainless steel surface.
If Kettle Boils Dry: The heating element is protected by an
automatic safety device. If the Kettle is accidentally switched on
without water, or is allowed to boil dry, the Kettle will automatically
repeat a cycle of switching off, cooling down, and switching back
on. If this happens, you should:
1. Unplug Kettle.
2. Wait about 20 minutes for element to cool down and then use
as normal and check that Kettle functions correctly.
If Kettle Does Not Work: Make these simple checks before calling
the provided customer assistance number:
Have you turned the Power Switch to ON (l)?
If Kettle heats but does not boil, it might need descaling. See
step 3 in “Care and Cleaning.”
Has Kettle been accidentally turned on without being filled with
water or allowed to boil dry? Turn Power Switch to OFF ( ), wait
20 minutes, and try again.
Is cord firmly plugged into outlet and Kettle firmly seated in base?

w WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse kettle,
cord, or plug in water or other liquids.
1. With Kettle unplugged, empty any remaining water. Allow Kettle
to cool.
2. To avoid scale/lime deposit buildup, empty Kettle after each use.
3. To remove discoloration or scale/lime deposit from heating
element: Place 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar (available in the
spice aisle of grocery store) into the Kettle. Then fill the Kettle
1/2 full with water. Plug into outlet. Turn Power Switch to ON (I)
and bring to boil. Turn OFF ( ), let cool, and rinse several times
with clean tap water.
4. Wipe the exterior of Kettle with a damp cloth. Do not use
abrasive scouring pads or powders since they may scratch the
smooth surface of the Kettle.
Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to products purchased and used in the U.S. and
Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any
other warranty or condition.
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and
workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of original
purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement
of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option;
however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the
product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty
to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace
with a similar one of equal or greater value.
This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not
in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting
from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the
original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt,
as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty
is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use or
subjected to any voltage and waveform other than as specified on the rating
label (e.g., 120 V ~ 60 Hz).

caused by breach of express or implied warranty. All liability is limited to
the amount of the purchase price. Every implied warranty, including
