IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should

always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/

or injury to persons, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before using the machine.

2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3. To protect against electric shock, do not immerse this appliance

including power base, in water or any other liquid.

4. Close adult supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by

or near children.

5. Unplug the power base from the power outlet when not in use,

before repositioning and before cleaning. Allow to cool before

putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or

after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any

manner. Return this appliance only to the nearest authorized

service center for examination, repair or adjustment.

7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the

appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock

or injury to persons.

8. Do not use outdoors.

9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.

10. Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner

or in a heated oven.

11. Ensure that the kettle is properly located on the power base before

plugging into the wall or switching on. To disconnect, turn all

controls to “Off” then remove plug from wall outlet.

12. Remove the kettle from power base before filling or pouring. Do

not attempt to remove the kettle from the power base until it is

switched off, manually or automatically.

13. Use the kettle only with the power base supplied and vice versa.

14. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

15. Use on a hard, flat level surface only, to avoid interruption of air

flow underneath the appliance.

16. Extreme caution must be used when handling or moving kettle

and pouring from the kettle containing boiling water.

17. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the heating cycle.

L’utilisation de tout appareil électroménager exige certaines

précautions fondamentales pour réduire les risques d’incendies, de choc

électrique ou de blessures corporelles, y compris les suivantes:

1. Lisez attentivement les instructions avant d’utiliser la bouilloire.

2. Ne touchez pas aux surfaces chaudes, utilisez la poignée ou le bouton.

3. Pour vous protéger du choc électrique, ne plongez pas la verseuse

ou le socle chauffant dans l’eau ou dans tout autre liquide.

4. Redoublez de vigilance lorsque cet appareil est employé par des

enfants ou à proximité d’eux.

5. Débranchez le socle chauffant quand la bouilloire ne sert pas, pour

la déplacer et avant de la nettoyer. Laissez refroidir la verseuse

avant d’entreprendre son nettoyage.

6. Ne vous servez pas d’un appareil dont le cordon, la ﬁche ou la

prise est abîmé, qui a mal fonctionné ou qui a été endommagé.

Retournez l’appareil au centre de service après-vente agréé pour

lui faire subir les contrôles, les réparations ou les réglages requis.

7. Employer des accessoires qui ne sont pas formellement conseillés

par le fabricant de l’appareil peut entraîner incendie, choc

électrique ou blessures corporelles.

8. Ne vous servez pas de la bouilloire à l’air libre.

9. Ne laissez pas pendre le cordon au bord de la table ou du plan de

travail et veillez à ce qu’il ne touche pas à une surface chaude.

10. Ne posez pas l’appareil sur ou près d’un feu à gaz ou électrique ou

bien dans un four chaud.

11. Assurez-vous que la verseuse soit parfaitement posée sur le socle

avant la mise en marche. Pour débrancher le socle, réglez les

commandes à l’arrêt (Off) puis tirez la ﬁche hors de la prise.

12. Retirez toujours la verseuse du socle chauffant avant de la remplir

et pour verser. Ne la séparez du socle qu’après sa mise à l’arrêt

manuelle ou automatique.

13. Ne vous servez de la verseuse qu’avec le socle chauffant fourni,

et vice versa.

14. Ne vous servez de l’appareil qu’aux ﬁns auxquelles il est destiné.

15. Ne posez la bouilloire que sur une surface rigide, d’aplomb et

plane pour ne pas entraver la circulation de l’air sous l’appareil.

16. Prenez toutes les précautions qui s’imposent quand vous versez,

portez ou déplacez une bouilloire qui contient de l’eau bouillante.

17. Ne levez pas le couvercle au cours du cycle de chauffage, vous

risqueriez de vous échauder.
