1 INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES
1.1 Comprobaciones en la zona
Antes de comenzar a trabajar en sistemas que contienen refrigerantes inflamables, es necesario realizar
controles de seguridad para garantizar que se minimice el riesgo de ignición. Para reparar el sistema de
refrigeración, se deben cumplir las siguientes precauciones antes de realizar trabajos en el sistema.
1.2 Procedimiento de trabajo
El trabajo se realizará bajo procedimiento controlado, de forma que se minimice el riesgo de presencia
de algún gas o sustancia inflamable mientras se lleva a cabo el trabajo
1.3 Área general de trabajo
Todo el personal de mantenimiento y todas las personas que trabajen en el área local deberán recibir
instrucciones sobre la naturaleza del trabajo que se va a llevar a cabo. Se debe evitar el trabajo en
espacios reducidos. Se deberá seccionar el área alrededor del espacio de trabajo. Hay que comprobar,
mediante el control del material inflamable, que las condiciones dentro del área se consideren seguras.
1.4 Comprobar presencia de refrigerante
Se debe verificar el área con un detector de fugas refrigerante que sea apropiado, antes y durante el
trabajo, con el fin de asegurar que el técnico sea consciente de atmósferas potencialmente inflamables.
Hay que comprobar que el equipo de detección de fugas utilizado sea adecuado para su uso con
refrigerantes inflamables, es decir, que no produzca chispas y esté sellado de forma adecuada o
intrínsecamente segura.
1.5 Presencia de extintor
Si se va a realizar un trabajo en caliente en el equipo de refrigeración o en cualquier parte asociada,
deberá estar disponible un equipo de extinción de incendios apropiado. Debe haber un extintor de
polvo seco o de CO2 junto al área de carga.
1.6 Sin fuentes de ignición
Ninguna persona que realice trabajos relacionados con un sistema de refrigeración que implique
exponer tuberías que contengan o hayan contenido refrigerante inflamable deberá usar fuentes de
ignición, de tal manera que pudiera provocar riesgo de incendio o de explosión. Todas las posibles
fuentes de ignición, incluido el humo de cigarrillos, deben mantenerse lo suficientemente alejados del
lugar de instalación, reparación, extracción y eliminación, durante el tiempo en el cual sea posible que
se pueda liberar refrigerante inflamable al espacio de alrededor. Antes de realizar el trabajo, se debe
inspeccionar el área alrededor del equipo para asegurarse de que no haya riesgos inflamables ni
riesgos de ignición. Se mostrarán letreros de "Prohibido fumar".
1.7 Área ventilada
Hay que asegurarse de que el área esté al aire libre o de que esté adecuadamente ventilada antes de
ingresar al sistema o antes de realizar cualquier trabajo en caliente. Un grado de ventilación deberá
continuar durante el período en que se realice el trabajo. La ventilación debería dispersar de forma
segura cualquier refrigerante liberado y expulsarlo preferentemente de forma externa a la atmósfera.
