Thank you for purchasing a MABIS Digital Thermometer. Please read the
following instructions to achieve the most accurate temperatures and safe
operation. With proper care and use, your thermometer will provide you with
years of reliable readings.

F - indicates F
ahrenheit mode
C - indicates Celsius mode
What is a
“Normal”Temperature?
Although the generally accepted “normal” temperature reading is 98.6°F/37.0°C,
temperature readings can vary from 97.0°F/36.1°C to 99.0°F/37.2°C and still
may be considered “normal”. Variations in temperature can be attributed to
activities such as e
xercise, smoking, eating and drinking. Even time of day may
influence your temperature. For example, your temperature is lower in the morn-
ing than in the after
noon. Other variations may be due to the location of the
temperature reading. While the oral temperature follows the guidelines previous-
ly described, a rectal temperature is generally 1.0°F/0.5°C higher. Conversely,
an axillar
y (under the arm) temperature will be 1.0°F/0.5°C lower.

Cleaning Instructions
Before and after each use, clean the thermometer with a soft cloth and iso-
propyl alcohol diluted with water, or wash with COLD soapy water. An intact unit
can be submersed in water or alcohol. However, do not soak for an extended
period of time.
1. This unit must never be sterilized by boiling, gas or steam autoclaves.
2. The use of any other solution or cleaning method beyond the above men-
tioned may result in reliability problems with the thermometer and void your war-
ranty.
How to Take Your Temperature
1. Clean and disinfect the thermometer according to the instructions provided.
2. Apply a disposable probe cover to the clean, dry thermometer.
3. Press the POWER button (the unit will beep) to activate the thermometer.
This is the LCD display test, which insures all of the parts of
the displa
y are functioning properly. Within approximately 3 sec-
onds, the last reading will appear with the ‘M’ symbol in the
lower right corner of the display, indicating memory.
This display shows the last temperature reading. When ‘M’ dis-
appears and
‘L°F’ or ‘L°C’ displays, the POWER button can be
pressed to change between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C)
mode. Select the preferred measuring mode.
Once the designated mode symbol begins to flash, the ther-
mometer is ready to tak
e a reading.
Ten beeps will sound when the measurement is complete. Press the POWER
button to turn the unit off. The unit will automatically shut off after approximately
ten minutes.
