5 Bloeddruk

5.1 Wat is bloeddruk?

Bloeddruk is de druk die wordt uitgeoefend op de slagaderwand door het bloed dat door de slagaders

stroomt. De druk die wordt gemeten wanneer het hart samentrekt en bloed uit het hart stuwt, is

systolisch (bovendruk). De druk die wordt gemeten wanneer het hart uitzet door het bloed dat

5.2 Waarom moet u uw bloeddruk meten?

Van de verschillende gezondheidsproblemen waarmee de moderne mens heeft af te rekenen, komen

problemen gepaard met een hoge bloeddruk verreweg het vaakst voor. Door de gevaarlijk sterke

correlatie tussen hoge bloeddruk en cardiovasculaire aandoeningen en het hoge ziektecijfer zijn

bloeddrukmetingen noodzakelijk geworden om de risicogroepen te identificeren.

• Als het toestel op een koude plaats wordt bewaard, laat het dan eerst op

kamertemperatuur komen, alvorens het te gebruiken.

• Meet uw bloeddruk niet bij lage (minder dan 10 °C) of hoge (meer dan 40 °C)

temperatuur om onnauwkeurige metingen te voorkomen.

• Wacht 30 à 45 minuten nadat u een cafeïnehoudende drank hebt gedronken of

een sigaret hebt gerookt voordat u uw bloeddruk meet.

• Rust minstens 5 à 10 minuten voordat u uw bloeddruk meet.

• Ontspan minstens 3 à 5 minuten tussen verschillende metingen.

• Wikkel de armband stevig rond uw blote bovenarm en leg uw arm op een tafel

of plat oppervlak op dezelfde hoogte als uw hart. Uw voeten moeten plat op de

grond staan.

• Beweeg of schud het toestel niet tijdens een meting.

• De bloeddrukmetingen moeten worden geïnterpreteerd door een arts of ervaren

zorgverlener die vertrouwd is met uw medische geschiedenis.

• Door het toestel regelmatig te gebruiken en de resultaten voor uw arts te

noteren, houdt u uw arts op de hoogte van de voortdurende veranderingen in

uw bloeddruk.

• Indien u een probleem met de bloedsomloop hebt zoals arteriosclerose,

diabetes, leverziekte, nierziekte, ernstige hypertensie, perifere

bloedsomloop ..., moet u uw zorgverlener vóór gebruik van het toestel

raadplegen.

• Dit product is niet geschikt voor mensen met een aritmie en voor zwangere

vrouwen.

• De bloeddrukmetingen die met dit toestel worden verricht, zijn gelijk aan de

metingen die door een ervaren waarnemer met de auscultatiemethode met

armband/stethoscoop worden verkregen, en vallen binnen de

nauwkeurigheidsmarges die worden voorgeschreven door de Amerikaanse

nationale standaardnormen voor elektrische of automatische

sfigmomanometers.

I have a Levita blood pressure monitor BPM Arm 6400. Initially the thing worked well. Not anymore, though. When you put it into operation, the bracelet pumps up to high pressure and keeps it full for a period (I think my arm will fall off in a moment) then it runs empty and gives error code E 1. The hose connection to the bracelet does not leak. . I have also changed all the batteries and cleared the memories, but it remains the same. Who knows what to do?

Have had the blood pressure monitor for 4 years now and workable without any problems. Now it keeps showing a much lower value than it did before. After checking with the GP, the measurements are no longer correct. The device has been checked and it appears to be in order. What now, throw it away and this after a minimum of use in 4 years?
