How long should I boil eggs? Verified

This depends on how hard the egg should be and how large the egg is. In general it can be said that for soft eggs, boiling time should be 3-4 minutes, medium boiled 5-6 minutes and hard boiled eggs 8-10 minutes. Results can vary between brands and models.

Product looks great but instructions are non existent ! No leaflet with a guide to how much water is required for various cooking and the measuring cup is useless. Who designed it for goodness sake ? The so called graduations are almost invisible and practising with eggs to find out how much water to use is so hit and miss and I've wasted quite a few eggs so far! Just about got hard boiled sorted but it shouldn't be like this. Good design but rubbish instructions or should I say NO instruct

Looks great but cup is useless. It seems the designers were more interested in form not function. It’s almost impossible to read the graduations and they only seem to cover boiled eggs not poached eggs; the manual does not help. It would seem to me making the makings larger, possibly spiralling on the outside would be better or a simple line of tablespoon marks with the amount needed for boiled eggs and poached engraved on the lid. Perhaps a large magnifying glass should be shipped with it.
