cleaning and maintenance

Regularly clean the coffee machine. This is not only beneﬁcial for the life span of the appliance, it also ensures optimum use

of the appliance and, of course, good tasting coffee.

Cleaning should involve the following:

• Prior to cleaning, check that the coffee machine has been switched off and that the plug has been removed from the

wall socket.

• Clean the outside of the appliance regularly with a slightly damp cloth. Wipe it dry with a dry cloth. Never use abrasives.

Never rinse the machine under the tap or submerge it in water.

• Clean the glass jug with cover, ﬁlter holder and permanent coffee ﬁlter with hot water and a mild washing-up liquid.

Rinse the glass jug with hot water. Thoroughly dry the glass jug before placing it back on the hot plate. Do not clean the

glass jug, ﬁlter holder and permanent coffee ﬁlter in a dishwasher.

7. Press the on/off key once. The red indicator light in the display turns on. The machine is operational and the coffee

will be made.

8. Once the ﬁlter process has been completed, remove the glass jug from the hot plate and pour out the coffee.

9. Coffee tastes best immediately after it has been made, so do not wait too long before serving. The glass jug can

immediately be placed back on the hot plate or you can pour the coffee into a thermos jug.

Attention: This coffee machine comes with a drip stop. This means that the ﬂow of coffee is stopped immediately when

the glass jug is removed. The ﬁlter holder is closed, thus blocking the ﬂow of coffee. Be sure to place back the glass jug

as quickly as possible to prevent the ﬁlter from overﬂowing.

SWITCHING OFF

The machine can be switched off at any time by pressing the on/off key. The red indicator light will turn off.

If the coffee machine is not switched off immediately, the coffee is kept hot for 40 minutes. After these 40 minutes the

coffee machine switches off automatically. This means that the machine is in compliance with European energy efﬁciency

legislation.

When using a paper ﬁlter bag, do not forget to remove it and throw it away. Raise the cover of the ﬁlter holder and remove

the ﬁlter holder. Throw the ﬁlter bag away and place the ﬁlter holder back on the bracket.

When using a permanent coffee ﬁlter, you can empty, clean and re-use it.

setting the time and programming automatic brewing

To have the coffee machine brew coffee automatically at the required time, you must set the clock to the current time.

1. Fill the coffee machine according to the steps 1 to 5 described in chapter 4.

2. Press the HOUR and MIN keys to set the current time.

3. Press the PROGRAMME key, the white indicator will ﬂash.

4. Use the HOUR and MIN keys to set the time at which the coffee machine should start making coffee.

5. Press the PROGRAMME key once more to conﬁrm the set time. The white indicator light is continuously lit.

6. You can press the AROMA SELECTOR key to switch on the aroma selector.

7. The coffee machine will now make coffee at the time set by you. Once the set time has been reached, the white indicator

light will turn off and the red indicator light will turn on.

8. To cancel the set time, press the PROGRAMME key once more. To adjust the set time, follow all previous steps again.
