How often should I defrost my freezer? Verified

For optimal use of the freezer it is best to defrost it once every 3-6 months. Ice on the inside of the freezer reduces the available space and increases the use of energy. The thawing process can be accelerated by placing hot water in the drawer or placing bowls of hot water in the freezer.

Hello. Bought the freezer 1 month ago. Fill it with meat and chicken. And it is number 4 temperature. Got a very bad smell and noticed that the bottom part of the chicken and meat was not freezing properly. Having thrown away about 10kg of meat and 6kg of chicken... I don't know what to do with that freezer now...
