Fan running. Compressor turns on and off. After running 45 minutes everything is running still but no water collection

Had it installed four days ago in our small quarters in the OLD FOLKS home. Maintenance Man, having done several such installations, did a neat job with the little drain hose thru the wall to outdoors. The machine is perfect for our needs - 100% improvement in the atmosphere. BUT, even with a double check on the installation and that I really am following the instructions, the automatic-pump feature has not yet worked. At 93, I don't enjoy dumping the bucket every twelve hours. Any suggestions

OLD Bob - Seems the answer might be in your emptying the reservoir. The instructions clearly state that once you initiate the pump action by properly pressing the button the pump will activate when the reservoir is FULL. By emptying the reservoir manually the pump will not activate.

Purchased a GE dehumidifier model APEL50LZQ1. Have the humidistat set at 55%. When unit reaches that % it shuts off and comes back on after about 3 minutes and repeats that process all day. Is that normal? Have the hose connected and the pump on and it does periodically pump out as the the tank gets filled. I plan to leave the unit going 24-7. The condo is unoccupied for long periods of time so we need the humidity to be 55% on a normal basis. Just concerned the frequency of on and off.

Would like to find a replacement for hose that fits on the back. Any idea where to look? GEAPPLIANCES.COM has not been helpful--they only have a couple replacement items available for this unit.
