I have some kind of melted plastic stuck to the hot plate from either a clothing brand logo or a polymer based clothing label. “A moist cloth or sponge” wont remove it, its a very hard substance. What is the solution ? (This would not even be a problem on the old style shiny steel plate irons without modern teflon type “special coatings”. They were much easier to clean.)
