How to Use
This unit is for household use only.
GETTING STARTED
1. Remove all packing material and any stickers from the product.
2. Please go to www.prodprotect.com/applica to register your warranty.
3. Before first use, wash the interior of the kettle with hot soapy water.
4. Rinse well until water comes out clear.
Important: Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquids – or place in the
dishwasher.
5. Washtheremovablefilterwithwarmsoapywaterandrinsewell.
6. Place the kettle on a level surface: allow enough space for the steam to escape
without damaging the counters, cabinets or walls.
7. Fill the kettle with 2 cups of cold tap water and 1 cup of vinegar. Bring to boil
and discard.
8. Fill the kettle with at least 6 cups of cold tap water. Bring to boil and discard.
Repeat. Kettle is now ready for use.
Note: The kettle only operates when the ON switch is in the ON position. The kettle
will automatically shut off once the water has boiled and when there is no more
water in the kettle.
Warning: This product features boil/dry protection. If the kettle is accidentally
left plugged in without being filled or is allowed to boil to a very low level, it will
automatically repeat a cycle of turning off, cooling down and coming back on,
unless unplugged.
Tip:Forbestresults,beforeusingthekettleagainunplugitandwait5to10
minutes for the heating elements to cool down. Then refill the kettle with cold tap
water and plug it back in for normal use.
BOILING WATER
1. Fill with desired amount of cold tap water (from 3 to 7
½
cups) through the
pour spout.
Important: Do not overfill the kettle. The kettle should have at least 3 cups of cold
tap water in it before using it. Make sure the water level is below the bottom of
the pour spout. This prevents the boiling water from spilling onto the counter.
Important: Do not operate the kettle without water.
2. Plug the kettle into a standard electrical outlet. The power indicator light
turns on.
3. Press the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The water will begin to heat.
4. Whenthewaterboils,thekettleandtheindicatorlightwillautomaticallyshut
off.
Warning: This product features boil/dry protection. If the kettle is accidentally
left plugged in without being filled or is allowed to boil to a very low level, it will
automatically repeat a cycle of turning off, cooling down, and coming back on
unless unplugged.
Important: Do not try to hold the switch in the ON position once the water
has boiled.
5. Unplugthekettlewhennotinuse.
6. Pick up the kettle by the cool-touch handle.
Warning: The kettle when filled with boiling water is hot on the outside.
Use only the cool-touch handle to pick it up.
Note: When taking the kettle to the table, carry it with caution to avoid spillage.
Place it on a trivet or hot pad to protect the table surface or tablecloth.
GROUNDED PLUG
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do
not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW
Warning: This appliance is equipped with a tamper-resistant screw to
prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of fire or electric
shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user-
serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized
service personnel.
ELECTRICAL CORD
a) A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be
provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or
tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are
available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
c) If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply cord
or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating
of the appliance,
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should
be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the
countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or
tripped over.
Note: If the power supply cord is damaged, it should be replaced by
qualifiedpersonnel;inLatinAmerica,byanauthorizedservicecenter.
7. Hold kettle level when pouring, especially when it's filled to the maximum
capacity. Do not pour too fast.
8. To re-boil water, wait several minutes for kettle to cool, pour out any unused
water and then follow steps 1 through 7.
Important: To reuse the kettle, allow it to cool down.
Care and Cleaning
This appliance contains no user-serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified service
personnel.
1. Before cleaning, be sure the kettle is unplugged and has cooled completely. Empty
any remaining water from the kettle.
2. Wash the inside of the kettle with hot soapy water.
3. Rinse well until water comes out clear.
Important: Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquids – or place in the
dishwasher.
4. Washtheremovablescalefilterwithwarmsoapywaterandrinsewell.
5. Wipetheexteriorofthekettleandbasewithadampclothorspongeanddry.The
concealed heating element at the bottom of the interior may discolor. This will not
affect performance. Do not use abrasive soaps, cleansers, or scouring pads.
6. Over time, the kettle may heat up but will not boil, depending on your use and the
hardness of the water in your area. When this happens, it is time for descaling. Use
a scale/lime remover and follow its manufacturer's directions.
BUILT-IN LIME SCALE PROTECTION
Lime scale forms over time when water is heated. Though harmless it may be
bothersome. The concealed heating element in the kettle is designed to help reduce
scale buildup.
The kettle has a removable filter at the bottom of the pour spout to prevent particles
from pouring into your beverage.

The kettle does not finish and keeps on boiling, what should I do? Verified

This was helpful (265) Read more

Can I boil less than the minimim amount of water? Verified

No. When boiling less than the minimum amount of water, the temperature sensor might malfunction. This might prevent the kettle from switching off at boiling point, resulting in possibly dangerous situations.

Is it efficient to fill a kettle with hot water from the faucet? Verified

No. To get warm water to the faucet it is often needed to let cold water out first, which will be wasted. Also, the pipes will fill the same amount of hot water which will not be used and will cool, which leads to energy loss. Therefor it is better to fill a kettle with cold water.

Can I boil more than the maximum amount of water? Verified

No. When boiling more than the maximum amount of water, the kettle might overflow. This might result in possibly dangerous situations.
