Boîtier:
Les matériaux utilisés pour les boîtiers de nos montres varient de l’acier
inoxydable de qualité supérieure, du titane, de l’or au métal revêtu de
carbone amorphe, ou DLC (pour Diamond-Like Carbon). Les montres
automatiques des collections Engineer Hydrocarbon, Engineer Master II
et Engineer II sont spécialement équipées d’une enveloppe intérieure
antimagnétique en fer doux.
Verre:
Le verre est fabriqué à partir d’un saphir antireets.
Résistance aux chocs:
Toutes les montres BALL sont conçues pour résister à un test d’impact,
conformément à la norme ISO 1413, réalisé sur une machine qui simule
l’eet d’une chute libre sur un sol dur en bois depuis une hauteur d’un mètre.
La collection Engineer Hydrocarbon subit un test d’impact encore plus
rigoureux de 7,500Gs, qui lui assure une résistance aux chocs supérieure.
Mouvement:
BALL travaille en collaboration avec les meilleurs fabricants de
mouvements suisses an de mettre au point, dans les conditions les plus
rigoureuses, des mouvements très précis et très ables. Les montres
BALL sont ensuite ajustées et modiées pour répondre au « BALL Standard ».
Luminosité:
Des micro-tubes de gaz (H

) auto-luminescents donnent à nos montres une
lisibilité excellente, même dans l’obscurité absolue et dans les conditions les
plus adverses. Cette source lumineuse utilisée sur toutes les montres BALL
ne nécessite ni batteries, ni exposition à une quelconque source de lumière,
et présente une durée de vie pouvant atteindre jusqu’à 25 ans. L’intensité
luminescente des micro-tubes de gaz (H
3
) peut se détériorer au l des années,
toutefois, une restauration est possible en remplaçant le cadran. Pour la
plupart des modèles de la collection Engineer Hydrocarbon, les indications
gurant sur la lunette sont revêtues d’une peinture luminescente qui restitue
la lumière à laquelle elle a été exposée durant la journée.
Etanchéité:
L’étanchéité des montres BALL varie entre 30m et 3,000m, selon le modèle
choisi. L’étanchéité d’une montre risque de diminuer si sa couronne n’est
pas correctement vissée. Le système breveté de protection de la couronne
qui équipe les modèles de la collection Engineer Hydrocarbon garantit
que la couronne retourne dans la position appropriée après manipulation.
