Blutdruck ist der Druck des in den Blutgefäßen ﬂießenden

Blutes, der durch das Pumpen des Herzens verursacht wird.

Es werden immer zwei Werte gemessen, der systolische

(obere) Wert und der diastolische (untere) Wert.

Das Gerät zeigt außerdem den Pulswert an (wie oft das Herz

in der Minute schlägt).

Auf Dauer erhöhte Blutdruckwerte können zu Gesundheits-

schäden führen und müssen deshalb ärztlich behandelt

werden.

•

Besprechen sie Ihre Werte immer mit Ihrem Arzt, insbe-

sondere wenn Sie auffällige Werte feststellen oder sich

unsicher sind. Verlassen Sie sich niemals nur auf die

Blutdruck-Messwerte allein.

•

Mehrere Faktoren können die Genauigkeit einer Blutdruck-

messung am Handgelenk beeinﬂussen. Es kann vorkommen,

dass die Messwerte von den Messwerten am Oberarm

abweichen. Wir empfehlen Ihnen daher, neben diesen

Werten auch die Messwerte am Oberarm zu betrachten und

mit Ihrem Arzt zu besprechen.

Tragen Sie Ihre Messwerte in den beiliegenden Blutdruck-

pass ein. Auf diese Weise kann sich Ihr Arzt schnell einen

Überblick verschaffen.

•

Zu hohe Blutdruckwerte können verschiedene Ursachen

haben. Ihr Arzt kann Sie genauer darüber informieren und

wird Sie bei Bedarf entsprechend behandeln. Neben Medi -

kamenten können z.B. auch Entspannung, Gewichtsabnahme

oder Sport Ihren Blutdruck senken.

•

Verändern Sie auf keinen Fall von sich aus die von Ihrem

Arzt verschriebene Dosierung von Arzneimitteln.

•

Der Blutdruck unterliegt im Tagesverlauf starken Schwan-

kungen, je nach Anstrengung und allgemeinem Beﬁnden.

Messen Sie deshalb täglich unter denselben Bedingungen,

in Ruhe und wenn Sie entspannt sind. Messen Sie mindes-

tens zweimal täglich, morgens und abends.

•

Es ist normal, dass bei kurz hintereinander durchgeführten

Messungen deutliche Unterschiede auftreten können.
