1. author’s liability: The information contained herein has been issued conscientious and under assumption of correct-
ness. The issuer shall not be liable for any type of use whatsoever and the consequences thereof. The issuer is not liable for costs or

reserved without prior notice.
2. brief description: The ACE II is a digital alcohol testing device, which measures the alcohol concentration in the
breath and calculates the blood alcohol level from that.

4. which is what:

The ACE II comes with singly wrapped mouth pieces. Use a new, single wrapped mouth piece for every new test. Do not
use sanitized or disinfected mouth pieces. The ACE trading and developing ltd. Company rejects any claims for damages
that arise from the multiple use of the same mouth piece.
5. alcohol test with the ALCOSCAN ACE II:
5.1. inserting batteries: Press the ruffled arrow on the battery cover and pull it off. Insert two batteries size AAA (Mini, LR03)
1,5 V into the battery mould. Watch for the correct polarity: Long spring negative pole; short spring positive pole. Push the battery
cover back into place.
5.2. operation of the alcohol test:
5.2.1. active measuring: Press the operation knob briefly. When you press the knob long it will show the number of completed
tests. The device runs in. Meanwhile insert the mouth piece into the blow opening. The display shows BLOW. Blow into the
mouthpiece without interruption at medium strength. The ACE II analyses the breath sample and shows the result in per mill.
The display light turns off after 5 bleeps. In order to perform another test keep the knob pressed.

7. how to achieve best possible accurate results:

Wait at least 15 minutes after the last zip of alcohol until using the alcohol test. Do not eat, drink or smoke during that time.
g
Do not open the housing.
g
Do not store the ACE II at a cold or hot or humid or insufficiently vented place.
g
Keep the ACE
ALCOSCAN II out of reach of children.
g
Perform three „run in tests“, after a longer storage time, before performing the actual
alcohol test.
g
Do not drop the ACE II.
g
Replace batteries upon battery alarm sign. Low battery capacity leads to false test results.
g
Do not conduct any test in noisy (sound waves disturb the sensor) draughty or badly vented places.
g
After a test result of 1,00
per mill or higher the sensor needs a longer rest. In this case wait for a minimum of three minutes until the next test.
g
Do not
conduct any test in very cold, very hot or unvented, smoky surroundings.
g
Store the ALCOSCAN II in the according case in order
to prevent the intrusion of dust and liquids.
8. notes on the battery law (BattG) – exchange of batteries:
The device covered by this operation manual contains two alkali- manganese batteries upon delivery. These batteries are not meant
to be recharged. Attempting to recharge may be harmful to people or goods. Neither is the application of rechargeable batteries in
the device possible, as it causes damage to the device. Dead batteries shall not be disposed of in domestic garbage. Old batteries
may contain harmful substances that may be harmful to health and environment. Please return the batteries/rechargeable ones to
the retailer or your local recycling collection place. The return is free of charge and stipulated by law. Please throw only run down
batteries into the provided containers and cover up the poles of lithium batteries.
For battery exchange pull the battery cover off the device and replace the used batteries against new ones. Watch for the polarity:
The negative poles of the batteries have contact to the springs in the battery mold. Push the battery cover back onto the housing
until it clicks.
All batteries and rechargeable ones are recycled. Valuable commodities like iron, zinc, or nickel can thus be recovered. Battery
recycling is the simplest act of environmental protection in the world. Thank you for participating.
The trash bin means: Batteries and rechargeables may not
be disposed off in domestic garbage. The symbols under the
trash bin stand for:

9. calibration:
In order to maintain the accuracy of the ACE II, it is advised to recalibrate after 6 months. The calibration is not mandatory, but the
accuracy of the ACE II deteriorates continuously. Send the ACE II marked „Alkomat calibration service“ to the company address
stated on the invoice. We suggest to ship as parcel, so a tracking and tracing is possible in case it gets lost.
10. warranty and liability:
10.1. warranty:
The ACE trading and developing ltd. Company assumes a warranty of two years after purchase for the product that comes with this
warranty and liability declaration - in all versions and designations for material- and production defects; a warranty of one year
for the sensor. This warranty includes the electronics and housing, resp. with regard to the sensor without sampling components.
Components that are inevitably destroyed when working (e.g. fuses) are exempt from warranty. The warranty comes into force from
the delivery date or date of first operation (whichever time period is shorter), if not otherwise stated in the accompanying documents
to product by the ACE trading and developing ltd. company.
10.2 warranty and liability limitations:
10.2.1. product limitation: The ACE trading and developing ltd. Company rejects any further explicitly or tacitly assumed warranty
including the marketability and suitability for a certain purpose. The warranty explicitly does not cover the calibration. After a sensor
exchange a calibration is compellingly necessary.
If the product requires sensor exchange and/or calibration, the user is provided with an estimate. If the user refuses the estimate,
ACE trading and developing ltd. Company will return the product in unrepaired/uncalibrated condition and the product shall be
marked accordingly.
Should the product not meet this warranty the purchaser’s rights and the duties of ACE trading and developing ltd. company are
limited exclusively to and under the discretion of ACE trading and developing ltd. company the exchange or repair of the affected
goods or a purchase price refund.
10.2.2. application limitation: By no means shall ACE trading and developing ltd. company be liable for additional damages, collateral
damage or consequential damage, e.g. loss of profits or exploitation which could result from the sales, production or utilization
of such products sold under this liability restriction regardless whether such claims arise from contracts, neglect or other default
actions.
The product of any version or designation that comes with this warranty and liability declaration shall not be held legally responsible
particularly for determining a person’s ability to conduct a vehicle or willed conduct under the influence of alcohol which endangers
him or others.
Mandatory preconditions for this warranty are the careful checking of all products for damage upon receipt, a calibration suitable
for the respective application by the purchaser and observing the determined way of use, repair and maintenance according to the
instructions in the accompanying leaflets by ACE trading and developing ltd. company. Repairs or maintenance works executed by
unqualified personnel as well as the use of unapproved expendable materials and spare parts lead to the expiry of the warranty.
As applies to all technically demanding products it is a basic precondition and mandatory for the warranty by ACE trading and
developing ltd. Company that all users of these products are familiar with the handling, properties and limitations of the product as
described in the respective product literature.
10.2.3. advisory limitation: The purchaser confirms that he has undertaken to examine in his sole responsibility the intended appli-
cation and suitability of the purchased goods for any purpose of use. It is explicitly agreed between the parties that any technical
or other advice by ACE trading and developing ltd. company with regard to the use of goods or services has been rendered free of
charge and at the purchaser’s sole risk. Therefore no obligation or liability shall arise from such recommendations by ACE trading
and developing ltd. company or the results thereof.
6. warning signals:
6.1. insufficient breath sample: The display shows FLOW. This means that the ACE
II is not provided with sufficient breath for an analysis. Turn on the ACE II once more and
blow more strongly and without interruption for four seconds into the mouth piece after
the BLOW sign appears on the display until you hear two bleeps and sense two strikes
in the ACE II.
6.2. battery warning:
When the BAT sign appears, the batteries are dead. Replace the inserted batteries by
inserting new AAA type batteries (Mini, LR03) 1,5 V Alkali.
Do not use rechargeable ones.
Amendments to the product may lead to changes in the sequence as described under 5. and 6. This may happen
without prior notice and adaptation of the operation manual and constitutes no reason for complaining, returning or
lowering the price. It is subject to the responsibility of the user to notice deviations between the operation manual and
the factual operation of the ACE II and to act correspondingly.
