Where should I place my smoke detector? Verified
This depends on the situation, but in a home it is best to place at least one smoke detector on every floor. Try to place them in hallways or other spaces that connect different rooms and never place the smoke detector directly next to a kitchen or bathroom. Also keep at least 30 centimeters of space between a smoke detector and a lamp.

Can I use candles if I have a smoke detector? Verified
This partially depends on the sensitivity of the smoke detector. In many cases a candle can be used as long as it is not placed in direct proximity of the smoke detector. When blowing out the candles, smoke can be generated that might trigger the smoke detector.

Is a smoke detector the same as a carbon monoxide detector? Verified
No! A smoke detector will not function as a carbon monoxide detector and vice versa.

The smoke alarm hung in the hallway for about 4 years. There were regular false alarms in the case of moisture (showering, cooking) but also alarms in the event of smoke development ... so far it served the purpose. Recently a beep (preferably at night-however), which indicates contamination of the optics. Now a permanent beep forces me to replace the device, as neither a possibility to clean the optics nor to replace the battery is structurally provided. Too bad. Hadn't made his money yet ...

After less than 3 years, the smoke detector emits warning tones at irregular intervals and without any external reason. It is not dirty, and the non-replaceable battery should still have enough reserves. Thus, hazardous waste.

After about 4 years of use, we receive the warning signals that the optics are soiled. Cleaning (blowing out, etc.) is not provided for in the operating instructions. Overall, I find the operating instructions very confusing. A table with a description and listing of all signals would be helpful. If necessary, it is necessary to read the miniature version of the instructions from back to front every time.
