Introduction
Mashed is a combat racing game that pits up to four players against each other across 13 challenging
tracks. Compete in the Single Player Challenge Cup or the Multi Player Battle and use any means
necessary to batter and bruise your opponents into submission and snatch victory for yourself. Use
the array of weapons and your driving prowess to unleash your fury, cause absolute carnage and
grind your enemies into dust!
Controls
All menus within Mashed are navigated in the same way.
Use the up and down cursor keys to highlight a menu item and press the Return Key to select an option.
Press the ESC Key to go back to the previous menu screen.
Use the left and right cursor keys to cycle through choices or move sliders.

Getting Started
Installation and Setting Up
To play Mashed, the game must be installed on your PC. Please ensure you have at least 400MB of free
space on your Hard Drive.
1. Insert the Mashed CD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
2. After a few seconds the Launch menu should appear. If no menu appears please proceed
to step 3 otherwise skip to step 4.
3. On the Windows Desktop, Double Click on the ‘My Computer’ icon. Double Click on the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM
drive (typically this will be the D: drive), then double click on the ‘Launch.exe’ file.
4. From the Launch screen, click on ‘Install’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.
After Installation you will be presented with the Launch screen again. From here you will be able to Launch the
game, Uninstall the game, Configure the game settings, View the Readme file and Install DirectX 9. (Please note
DirectX 9 must be installed to play Mashed).
Configure Game Settings – Controllers
Mashed can be played with up to 4 players on 1 PC. You can configure your input devices (Keyboard, Joyticks,
Gamepads etc) from this screen. Please ensure your input device is configured and working properly in Windows.
Select your preferred controller from the pull down menu then select ‘Reconfigure’ to set-up the controls. Repeat
this process for each player you wish to set-up.
Configure Game Settings – Video Mode
Select the resolution and colour depth you wish to run the game in from the pull down menu.
Performance Settings
Check the tick boxes to enable the Dynamic Shadows, Multi-Texturing and Trilinear Filtering options.
NOTE: These options improve the visual appeal of Mashed, although may degrade overall performance. If you are
experiencing slow down issues, try turning these options off.
