I have a similar problem. With my bed, there are no "semicircular" -shaped elements to stabilize the screws for the large round holes on the side parts, but aluminum threads (circular). After 2 hours of trial and error I got the mechanism (before that I was wondering all the time why the screws didn't go all the way in ... You have to take these aluminum threads out first, put them back in at the right angle and tighten them). But everything gets wedged when it is tightened.
