My weather station prediced it would rain, but this didn't happen. Why is that? Verified

The prediction on the weather station is based on air pressure. In general low pressure means bad weather and high pressure means good weather. It's possible the weather pattern develops differently than the air pressure predicts.

What is the best location for a weather station and its sensors? Verified

The weather station itself is placed inside and needs to be kept away from heat sources such as the kitchen, windows or electrical appliances. A separate outside temperature sensor needs to placed in shadow and at least 1,25m above the ground. A rain sensor needs to be placed in an open area where it can always collect rain. A wind sensor needs to be placed in an open area too, with any obstacles influencing the wind.

My weather station has a rain gauge, can it also measure the amount of snowfall? Verified

Some rain gauges are equipped with a heating element, making the snow melt and allowing it to be measured. Without heating element the rain gauge will clog and no measurement can be performed.

follow-up: I would check with the importer/supplier about the fact that only the outside temp is not displayed on the indoor unit (the rest of the outside measurement is), especially if your station is still under warranty.

I don't know the WS5400, but if it is about the same as this WS5500, then I will write about it next. In my opinion, the WiFi connection is slightly different from the connection between the indoor unit and the outdoor unit. In principle, you do not need the WiFi connection for proper functioning and only an extra one if you also want to monitor the weather station online (so remotely and have history recorded).

I just saw that I have a WS5400, but maybe someone here knows something. For me the WiFi symbol and the letters AP are flashing. Outside temp is not displayed, the rest is. Outdoor unit batteries just replaced.

Same problem weather station from 2018. Manual 3.2 Outdoor temperature and humidity sensor: See the image and carefully remove the bottom 4 wind deflectors from the outdoor unit. (leave the first guide in place!) Blow clean the holder that houses the temperature and humidity sensor and use a long-haired soft brush to clean the wind guides. DO NOT use WATER. Replace the wind deflectors and screw them in place. Tip: put a little Vaseline on the 2 screws and tighten them again. Good luck6!
