IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
1.
Read all instructions.
2.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use
of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
3.
Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used
by or near children. Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
4.
Do not touch hot surfaces or hot water. Use handles or
knobs. Care must be taken since burns can occur from
touching hot parts or from spilled hot liquid.
5.
To protect against fire, electric shock, and personal injury,
do not immerse cord, plug, power base, or electric kettle in
water or other liquid.
6.
Unplug from outlet when kettle is not in use and before
cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
7.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply cord
or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been
dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement
and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its
service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid
a hazard. Call the provided customer service number for
information on examination, repair, or adjustment.
8.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended or
sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause a risk of
injury to persons.
9.
Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or
touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
11. Do not place electric kettle on or near a hot gas or
electric burner or in a heated oven.
12. To disconnect electric kettle, turn any control to OFF (
)
and then remove plug from wall outlet. Never pull on
cord as this may damage the cord and eventually cause
electric shock.
13. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
14. Do not use for other than heating water. Other liquids or
food will contaminate the interior and void warranty.
15. Do not allow kettle to boil dry.
16. To avoid circuit overload, do not operate another high-
wattage appliance on the same circuit.
17. Heater may remain hot after the kettle is turned off.
18. WARNING: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may
be ejected.
19. Scalding may occur if the lid is opened during the
heating cycle.
20. Be certain kettle lid is securely in place during operation
and when pouring hot water. Do not use force when
placing lid on kettle.
21. Do not clean glass with cleansers, steel wool pads, or
other abrasive material.
22. Use only the power base provided.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
Other Consumer Safety Information
This appliance is intended for household use only.
w WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is
provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce
the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a
polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug
by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If
the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If
it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected
to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over
a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved
extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the
extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of
the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension
cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop
where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped
over.
To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another
high-wattage appliance on the same circuit with this
appliance.

5.
Pour hot water into desired mug or cup. Unplug.
NOTE: Only use Kettle to heat water. If Kettle is used to
heat other liquids, such as coffee or tea, the warranty

If Kettle floor discolors: It is normal for stainless steel
heating elements to discolor. This does not affect the
performance of Kettle. Do not use abrasive scouring pads or
cleaners since this may damage the stainless steel surface.
If Kettle boils dry: The heating element is protected by
two automatic safety devices. If your Kettle is accidentally
switched on without being filled with water, or is allowed to
boil dry, Kettle will automatically switch off. You should:
Unplug Kettle and wait about 20 minutes for element to
cool down.
Refill Kettle; then use as normal and check that Kettle
functions correctly.
If Kettle does not work: Make these simple checks before
calling the toll-free customer assistance number:
If Kettle heats but does not boil, it might need descaling
(see “Care and Cleaning” section).
Has Kettle been accidentally turned on without being
filled with water or allowed to boil dry? Press Power
Switch, wait 20 minutes, and try again.
Is cord firmly plugged into outlet and Kettle firmly seated
in Base?
Anti-Scale Mesh Filter: Scale is caused by lime and
calcium in hard water. The Mesh Filter will prevent these
suspended particles from being poured out of the Kettle.
The Filter should be cleaned periodically to ensure optimum
performance.
To clean Filter, unplug Kettle and allow to cool. Gently brush
Filter with a clean, wet toothbrush. Rinse toothbrush and
repeat if necessary.
Tea guide
Bring filtered or good-tasting tap water to a boil in Kettle.
Use 6 ounces (177 ml) of water per cup of tea.
If using loose tea instead of tea bags, measure 1 rounded
teaspoon of tea per cup into an infuser and place infuser
in cup. If no infuser is available, put tea directly into cup.
Pour heated water directly over tea. For stronger tea,
add more leaves rather than infusing longer than is
recommended.
Tea that is oversteeped will become bitter.
Care and Cleaning
w WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not immerse
kettle, power base, or plug in water or any other liquid.

s’éteindra automatiquement lorsque l’eau bouillira.
tension. Quoi faire :

This is to catch any loose limescale that might have accumulated over time.

This was helpful (402) Read more

The kettle does not finish and keeps on boiling, what should I do? Verified

In many cases the lid of the kettle was not closed properly. If heat is allowed to escape, the kettle will keep on boiling. If this does not solve the problem you should contact the manufacturer or a mechanic.

This was helpful (265) Read more

Can I boil less than the minimim amount of water? Verified

No. When boiling less than the minimum amount of water, the temperature sensor might malfunction. This might prevent the kettle from switching off at boiling point, resulting in possibly dangerous situations.

Is it efficient to fill a kettle with hot water from the faucet? Verified

No. To get warm water to the faucet it is often needed to let cold water out first, which will be wasted. Also, the pipes will fill the same amount of hot water which will not be used and will cool, which leads to energy loss. Therefor it is better to fill a kettle with cold water.

This was helpful (75) Read more

Can I boil more than the maximum amount of water? Verified

No. When boiling more than the maximum amount of water, the kettle might overflow. This might result in possibly dangerous situations.
