This limited warranty covers the original purchase of new product used for normal commercial,

personal or household use. Swinton Avenue Trading (SAT) warrants its products be free from the

defects in materials and workmanship (normal wear and tear excepted), from three years from the

date of purchase, except as provided below, SAT, at its opinion, will repair or replace with a compa-

rable product, free of charge, any product, part or component, which fails under normal use as a result

of such defect. This warranty does not apply to damage caused by fire, accident, negligence, misuse,

improper cleaning or other circumstances not directly attributable to manufacturing defects.

SAT does not warrant the color-fastness or matching of colors, grains or textures of such materials.

This warranty does not apply to: modifications of the product, attachements to the product not

approved by SAT, and products that were not installed, used, or maintained in accordance with

product instructions and warnings.

SAT PROVIDES THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES

EITHER EXPRESSLY OR IMPLIED. EXPRESSLY EXCLUDED ARE ALL WARRANTIES OF

FITNESS FOR A PARTICULIER PURPOSE OR MERCHANTABILITY.

SAT’S SOLE OBLIGATION AND THE USER’S EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS

WARRANTY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AT SAT’S SOLE

Thank you for purchasing this Office Depot Value 6 sheet strip

cut paper shredder. Please read all operation instructions

carefully and keep this manual for future reference.

Installation

Mount the shredder securely to the rim of the wastebasket. This paper shredder

includes a built-in safety mechanism that requires the shredder to be correctly

mounted on the supplied wastebasket. Then plug the power cord to any standard

115V AC outlet. The shredder is now ready to be used.

Attach the shredder head 1 to the wastebasket 2 .

Care and Use

Using the slide switch located on the top of the shredder, select one of the

following settings.

AUTO: This setting allows the shredder to automatically start when paper is

inserted into the shredding throat.

Always feed the paper in as straight as possible. When the paper has passed

through, the shredder will stop. Shred no more than 6 sheets of paper at one

time.

REV: In the unlikely event of a paper jam, the reverse setting can be used to help

clear the cutters of paper that has not passed through. Never attempt to clear a

jam by using the reverse function when the wastebasket is full.

OFF: This setting turns off all features of the shredder. For safety reasons, we

recommend that you leave the power switch in the “OFF” position whenever the

shredder is unattended or not in use.

 For optimal shredder performance, lubricate your shredder blades every 2-3

weeks with Office Depot brand shredder lubricant sheets (item # 340-960) or

Office Depot brand shredder lubricant oil (item # 285-661).

 Only use oil or lubricants which are clearly specified for shredder use.

 Never apply a spray or aerosol oil lubricant directly to the blades or shredder

motor as this could lead to a fire hazard.

 To oil your shredder, spray a stream of oil onto a sheet of paper or use a

pre-lubricated shredder sheet, then shred the lubricated sheet, and switch the

shredder to reverse to distribute the lubricant across the cutting blades. This

should be done every 2-3 weeks, depending on your usage.

Trouble Shooting

 Attempting to shred more than 6 sheets could lead to paper jams. If a jam

occurs and the cutter ceases operation please press the power switch to

“REV” and pull out the jammed paper.

 If the paper jams in the blades, please turn off the power switch and unplug

the power cord of the unit from the AC outlet and clean all paper at the

entrance and exit of the throat.

 If the shredder is run continuously for a long period of time and the motor

overheats, a safety thermal switch will automatically shut off the unit. If this

happens, turn the power switch to the “OFF” position for 10 minutes or more

before continuing.

Caution

 KEEP THIS UNIT AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS!

 DO NOT PLACE FINGERS TOO CLOSE TO THE SHREDDING THROAT

SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR.

 AVOID GETTING TIES, JEWELRY, HAIR OR LOOSE CLOTHING NEAR

THE SHREDDING THROAT SERIOUS INJURY MAY OCCUR.

 DO NOT attempt to open this unit by yourself as doing so may expose you to

sharp cutting blades and / or high voltage electrical shock which could cause

serious injury and will void the manufacturers warranty.

 Do not alter the unit or power cord in any way. Do not operate the unit if it or

the power cord appears damaged in any way.

 Never place the shredder near water or any heat source.

 Always turn the shredder off and unplug the power cord from the AC outlet

before cleaning it, moving it, emptying the wastebasket or not using it for an

extended period of time.

 Shredding paper, envelope, or labels with a sticky substance like glue may

lead to paper jams. Do not shred any wet paper, carbon paper, or vinyl bags.

The shred will stick in the cutter and may lower the shredding performance.

 Please empty the wastebasket regularly to ensure that the shredder exit does

not become blocked with paper.

 One folded sheet of paper equals 2 sheets of paper.

Instalación

puede utilizarse esta opción para eliminar de las navajas el papel que se haya

atascado. Nunca utilice el botón de marcha atrás cuando

la papelera esté llena.

OFF (APAGADO): apaga la trituradora por completo. Por razones de seguridad,

recomendamos que el botón esté siempre en la posición "OFF" cuando la

trituradora no esté en uso o esté desatendida.

♦ Para un mayor rendimiento de la trituradora, lubrique las navajas cada 2 o 3

semanas con hojas lubricantes Office Depot (artículo núm. 340-960) o aceite

lubricante para trituradoras Office Depot (artículo núm. 285-661).

♦ Utilice sólo aceites o lubricantes recomendados para trituradoras de papel.

♦ Nunca aplique lubricante en spray o aerosol directamente sobre las cuchillas o

el motor de la trituradora, ya que podría provocar un incendio.

♦ Para lubricar la trituradora, rocíe el lubricante sobre una hoja de papel o utilice

una hoja prelubricada especialmente diseñada. Introduzca dicha hoja en el

aparato y tritúrela. Por último, active la función de marcha atrás de la

trituradora para distribuir el lubricante uniformemente entre las cuchillas. Este

proceso debe llevarse a cabo cada dos o tres semanas, según la frecuencia

de uso del aparato.

Solución de problemas

♦ El intento de triturar más de 6 hojas podría ocasionar que el papel se atore. Si

se produce un atasco y la trituradora deja de funcionar, cambie el interruptor a

la posición "REV" y extraiga el papel atorado.

♦ Si el atasco se produjo en las navajas, apague el aparato, desenchufe el cable

de alimentación y retire el papel de la entrada y salida de la boca de

alimentación.

♦ Si se utiliza la trituradora durante un largo tiempo y el motor se calienta en

exceso, existe un interruptor térmico de seguridad que apagará la unidad

automáticamente. Si esto ocurre, desplace el interruptor a la posición de

apagado, "OFF", durante al menos 10 minutos antes de continuar.

♦ Las hojas de papel, sobres o etiquetas con sustancias adhesivas, como

pegamento, podrían producir atascos. No triture papel mojado, papel carbón o

bolsas de vinil. Los trozos se quedarían pegados a las navajas y esto afectaría

el rendimiento de la unidad.

♦ Vacíe la papelera regularmente para asegurarse de que el papel no bloquee la

salida de la trituradora.

♦ Una hoja de papel doblada equivale a dos hojas.

Installation

Fixez solidement la déchiqueteuse sur le bord de la corbeille à papier. Cette

déchiqueteuse est dotée d'un mécanisme de sécurité intégré ne fonctionnant

que lorsque la déchiqueteuse est montée sur la corbeille à papier fournie. Ensuite,

branches le cordon d'alimentation à une prise standard de 115 V CA. La

déchiqueteuse est désormais prête à l'emploi.

Utilisation et entretien

À l'aide de l'interrupteur à glissière situé en haut de la déchiqueteuse, sélectionnez

l'une des fonctions suivantes.

AUTO : la déchiqueteuse démarre automatiquement lorsque le papier est inséré

dans le chemin d'alimentation.

Insérez toujours le papier le plus droit possible. Une fois le papier déchiqueté,

l'unité s'arrêtera. N'insérez jamais plus de 6 feuilles de papier à la fois.

REV : en cas de bourrage de papier, vous pouvez utiliser la fonction reverse

(marche arrière) pour enlever les bouts de papier bloqués dans le chemin

d'alimentation. N'essayez

jamais d'utiliser cette fonction lorsque la corbeille à papier est pleine.

OFF : désactive toutes les fonctions de la déchiqueteuse. Pour des raisons de

sécurité, nous vous recommandons de positionner l'interrupteur d'alimentation sur

« OFF » lorsque vous n'utilisez pas la déchiqueteuse pendant de longues

périodes.

♦ Pour obtenir de meilleurs résultats, graissez la lame de la déchiqueteuse

toutes les 2 à 3 semaines à l'aide des feuilles huilées pour déchiqueteuse

Office Depot (article n° 340-960) ou de l'huile lubrifiante pour déchiqueteuse

Office Depot (article n° 285-661).

♦ Utilisez uniquement des huiles ou lubrifiants spécifiquement destinés aux

déchiqueteuses.

♦ Ne vaporisez jamais un spray ou un aérosol d'huile lubrifiante directement sur

les lames ou le moteur de la déchiqueteuse afin d'éviter les risques d'incendie.

♦ Pour huiler votre déchiqueteuse, imbibez d'huile une feuille de papier à l'aide

d'un spray ou prenez une feuille de papier huilée pour déchiqueteuses et

passez-la dans l'unité. Appuyez ensuite sur le bouton de marche arrière afin de

répartir le lubrifiant sur les lames. Répétez cette opération toutes les 2 à 3

semaines, selon l'usage que vous faites de la machine.

Dépannage

♦ N'essayez pas de déchiqueter plus de 6 feuilles en même temps afin d'éviter

les risques de bourrage. En cas de bourrage et si la déchiqueteuse ne

fonctionne plus, positionnez le bouton d'alimentation sur « REV » et retirez le

papier bloqué.

♦ En cas de bourrage au niveau des lames, éteignez la déchiqueteuse et

débranchez le cordon d'alimentation de l'unité avant de retirer le papier bloqué

de part et d'autre du chemin d'alimentation.

♦ Si la déchiqueteuse fonctionne en permanence pendant une longue période et

si le moteur surchauffe, un interrupteur thermique de sécurité éteindra

automatiquement l'unité. Dans ce cas, positionnez l'interrupteur d'alimentation

sur « OFF » pendant 10 minutes ou plus avant de continuer à utiliser la

déchiqueteuse.

rester collés dans la déchiqueteuse et en réduire les performances.

♦ Videz la corbeille régulièrement afin d'éviter que la sortie du chemin
